Hai Glass (the 2nd track in Room of no Name) is a very interesting song. The words are so poetic and filled with N2-N1 level kanji. Was it hell to translate this song? 80% yes. I applause for Makonyan's writing skill. He uses so many phrases that the average native Japanese speaker doesn't use. Trust me when I say that I was about to give up with this translation. First of all, I am no expert in Japanese let alone N2-N1 level. And yes, those two levels are hard af.
Makonyan is definitely poetic I'll give you that. His words can't be translated without observing the kanjis closely.
All I can say is I tried my best.. I am no expert.. but I did try to translate this song the best I can. Some parts may be inaccurate so I'm sorry if that happens. But believe me when I say that I tried my best to contribute to his international fans.

โด Now I have a hard time translating this. The original says ใ้ฃใณๆฃใ้ชๅ็ฒงใ (Tobichiru yukigeshou). Tobichiru ใ้ฃใณๆฃใใ means flying around. Geshou ใๅ็ฒงใ means make-up. I asked some JP people about it and some say it means "snow covered with scattered snow" but also said that it's not a phrase they used often. Take this sentence with a grain of salt cause I'm no expert in Japanese ๐ญ
โต ่ฌณใใ (utaeya), this phrase made me question this phrase for quite a while. The kanji ่ฌณ can also mean "to declare", but in the end I chose these words.
โถ I find this part very interesting and actually confusing for me to translate. If you immediately translate, it just says "you're lying to me". If you see the kanjis closely, the kanji ใๅใใฆใ can mean a few things. ๅ itself can mean vomit, spit, confess, or tell in the form of lies. This is an N2-N1 level kanji so it's way of my league ๐ญ I had to consult to many websites for help.
โท Had a hard time translating this so it might not be accurate, but close to the actual meaning.
โธ Okay I find this part interesting as well. The phrase boketeru ใๆใใฆใใ can translate to many things. Now I used "fallen in love" in this case. But if you look up ใๆใใ it can mean: being engrossed, admire, or grow senile. There's another way of saying ใๆใใ which is toboke. Toboke can mean "to play dumb". But in his case, he said "boketeru". Another high level kanji ๐ญ
โน The kanji ใๆบ่ฉใ means to sway, flutter, drift about. Kind of a confusing sentence for me to translate tbh.
โบ Again, a confusing sentence to translate. The original says ใใใญใขใ้ฃพใๅฎตใฎๅธทใ (Furoa (floor) wo kazare yoi no tobari). ใๅฎตใฎๅธทใ literally means "curtains/screens of evening". But when I tried to consult DeepL cause I wasn't sure if I'm right, it says that it means "evening scenery". Take it with a grain of salt, it can either mean "evening scenery" or "curtains of evening".
โป At this point I want to cry. The original says ใ็่จใใใฏใซใใ (kibukureta warutsu (waltz)). ใ็่จใ kibuku, this kanji just makes me want to throw myself out of the window because I surfed the internet for a proper meaning. Some say ใ็่จใ means thickly clothed. So I'll just put that translation because I'm already so done with this sentence ๐ญ another high level kanji

DALI: One of the things that came up while I was searching the title of this song months ago is Cinderella ๐ -- associated with both ash and glass.
We can reframe the song in the Cinderella context in an another way of context, as the "Ash" self of Cinderella is her "true" self, and the "glass" self is her "fake" self
In a way, we can say that Cinderella meant to allure everyone with her "fake" self, which, if we think about it, makes Cinderella a little less virtuous
And the yukigeshou "snow covered with scattered snow" --- imagine Cinderella's face smeared with ash here and there: that CAN be seen as make-up with a little bit of imagination and magic"
Another note: this song is indeed related to Cinderella. There was an interview about it! I'll try to translate it next time!

โด I had a hard time translating this part. The original says ใใณใณใญๅฏใๅใ (kokoro yoseau). Yoseau can mean "pressed against each other" so I came to the conclusion to translate it as that.
โต ใ้ขใ้ขใใ (hanare banare) can mean many things. The kanji ้ข can mean detach or seperation. Hanare banare can mean distancing oneself from, seperation from, or even lost of interest. Another meaning I find interesting is "alienated from".
โถ Hanakazari ใ่ฑ้ฃพใใ means flower ornament. It most likely refers to the "corsage".
โท ใๅฅใๅฅใใ (wakare wakare) has a similar meaning to hanare banare. The kanji ๅฅ can mean seperate or branch off. Wakare wakare can mean parting, seperation, or even farewell. This is just my thought, but "hanare banare" is the start of the seperation.. the start of a "distance". And "wakare wakare" is the finale. The farewell and the final seperation". Just a thought tbh.

This song is the continuation of Hai Glass (according to Seiyuu Animedia July 2022 issue). I haven't got my copy yet (it's still in Japan ๐ญ), but according to my moot, Yeon, the story is more about Cinderella expressing her happiness in the ball. She knows very well that her time is slowly running out. The lyrics definitely described it perfectly~
I was already excited about this song when I first heard the preview and the description made me even more excited. This is why i decided to translate it ASAP. And in my opinion, Makonyan really improved his English in here! The grammar makes so much sense! His pronunciation really improved, too!

โด. The first bump I have in this translation. I couldn't find a proper meaning to ใๆใใใใ (akasou) but this is the closest I can get. It might be inaccurate, but still has the idea of what he's trying to say.
โต. It's about 90% accurate. Still has the idea of what the original says so don't worry ^^
โถ. I would like to point this out. In the lyrics, the "candle" part is written as ใ็ฏใใ (akari) which means glow or illumination. Was about to say "illumination" but saw in the furigana that he pronounced it as ใใญใฃใณใใซใ (kyandoru), which is "candle".
โท. Oh god I never thought this small sentence would made me go insane. Okay, so I'll point this out again. This has a similar issue with note โถ where the kanji ใ็ฎๅฐใ is pronounced as ใใใใใใใ (waishou). Btw that's the pronunciation I found for it. But when I looked at the furigana, he pronounced it as ใใใฃใใ (chachi). Unfortunately, I have no idea what ใใใฃใใ means so I resort to the meaning of ใใใใใใใ. Even when I tried to dig the internet for it, it still didn't gave me an answer. The only closest result I got is an orca lol. Update on this issue: I found out some people use ใใใฃใใ to say "cheap". Take this information as you will. It could either be "diminutive" or "cheap".
โธ. Ah okay this was actually a pretty interesting find. Oorasu ใใชใผใฉในใ is actually a made up English term by Japanese. It's a combination of two words, "all" and "last". I just wrote "all last" lol. But it's also a mahjong term meaning the "last game" or "last round". At least, that is what I got from some native people's explanation. I also found that oorasu can also be equivalent to saying "finale". Which is why I wrote "finale" as an option. I honestly thought oorasu just mean "aura" or something. Surprise, surprise you end up learning a mahjong term.
